Summary
Press Statement from Suzanne Vuch, Director of Communications, RCMP Alberta
At this afternoon’s press conference, the Commanding Officer, Deputy Commissioner Curtis Zablocki was called away to an unmoveable appointment.
He left his all-day meeting with senior police leaders from across the province, because he felt so strongly about the apology.
For those members of the media that were there, you will have seen that Deputy Commissioner Zablocki was reluctant to leave and would have preferred to stay.
Investigators and senior leadership remained at the press conference and also spent the afternoon with the family in order to answer all of the family’s questions about our processes and the ongoing investigation.
We are disappointed that the departure of one of our senior leaders has become part of the story, rather that what it should be, focussing on finding Amber Tuccaro’s killer.
