Cold Lake First Nation Treaty Days were held July 12 to July 14 on the English Bay Treaty Grounds.
On Friday July 12, Chief Roger Martin was presented with a headdress, which signifies he will go about his work with honesty and put his people before himself.
The blanket he was presented with represents the chief will always care and look after his people.
The presentation was made during the opening ceremonies of Treaty Days where band councillors were also presented with their blanket and sworn in to office for a three-year term.
A brand new playground was also opened that day. Cold Lake Mayor Craig Copeland was among the dignitaries and provided remarks.
One of the activities for the children was painting rocks. For the adults, Windspeaker Radio Bingo was on hand for a game.
