Summary
Actor, singer, activist and humanitarian Tom Jackson has joined Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society as the company’s ambassador, creative collaborator and producer.
"We are the storytellers, the singers, the clowns and the tricksters. We help the world leap, learn, laugh and love,” said Jackson.
“It intoxicates me to think that as an artistic collaborator with MT7, I get to play the greatest instrument of change in the history of the human race. Thank you for welcoming me to your soil.”
Treaty 7 is one of the numbered treaties signed between First Nations and Queen Victoria between 1871 and 1921. It covers southern Alberta.
Making Treaty 7 produces theatrical and other artistic expressions to tell the story of the treaty and the results and implications of it over the years since.
The Calgary-based star of such TV hits as North of 60 and Season 3 of Cardinal and films such as Cold Pursuit with Liam Neeson joins Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society as the group heads into its upcoming season of performances.
In a press statement, the society says they are “thrilled” to welcome Jackson’s involvement.
