Smudging in the streets of Edmonton

The fifth annual Healing the Streets smudging will take place on Oct. 13. It will start at the southeast corner of 97th St. and 118 Ave in Edmonton. Organizers will also smudge 95th St.

The effort is intended to cleanse the “negative energy that contributes to the trauma and violence experience of women and girls on the streets of Edmonton.

Volunteers are needed and Elders are welcome. Sage has been picked specifically for the event, but donations of smudge is appreciated.

Healing the Streets is organized by Indigenous Men Against Violence Against Indigenous Women.
