Siksika country singer to perform July 1 in Calgary

Calgary will be celebrating Canada’s anniversary on July 1 with Juno nominee Armond Duck Chief from Siksika Nation.

Joining Duck Chief will be Calgarians Tegan and Sara, trilingual singer and performer Crystal Plamondon, and local artist Michael Bernard Fitzgerald.

Performances will take place at Riverfront Avenue, east stage.

“In this year of celebrating Canada 150, Canada Day festivities will highlight what makes our country unique, diverse and vibrant,” said Kent Hehr, Calgary Centre MP.

Following the Riverfront Stage show, Calgarians will have the opportunity to wish the nation a happy 150th birthday with a 30-minute fireworks display staged on the Centre Street Bridge.

Calgary is one of 19 Canadian cities to receive monies from the Canada 150 Fund.
