Human remains discovered outside of North Battleford last week are confirmed to be a missing Edmonton woman, Tiki Brook-Lyn Laverdiere, 25.
Laverdiere had been in the North Battleford and Thunderchild First Nation areas to attend a funeral April 27.
Battlefords RCMP and the major crime unit were conducting a ground search on July 11 when a police dog found her remains.

Battlefords RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP Major Crime Unit North, continue to investigate the disappearance of Tiki Brook-Lyn Laverdiere. She has not made contact with her family or friends for almost two weeks, which is extremely unusual for her.
Police are considering Tiki’s disappearance to be suspicious and are concerned for her well-being.
She had been in the North Battleford and Thunderchild First Nation areas to attend a funeral on April 27, 2019, and after the funeral she expressed a desire to return to Edmonton, Alberta. Tiki was last seen in North Battleford on May 1. The last contact she had with family was via text message, also on May 1.
Investigators are working to determine if Tiki left the North Battleford area, as she did not have a known mode of transportation or the means to leave. Investigators are concerned that she may have attempted to hitchhike back to Alberta.
Police are looking for the public's assistance in locating Tiki and are asking anyone that may have come in contact with her since April 29, 2019, or may have seen a woman walking along Highway # 16 to contact police or CrimeStoppers.
Tiki is described as being 5'4" tall and approximately 140lbs. She has burgundy hair and typically wears grey contact lenses. She has small tattoos on her neck and eyebrow and nose piercings. At the time of her disappearance, she may have been carrying a Louis Vuitton handbag and had been seen wearing bright white shoes and a black jacket/pants with unique red and white stripes (see attached photos). Tiki walks with a slight impediment.
Police are also asking people in the North Battleford area to check their properties for any sign of Tiki or anything that may seem unusual.
