The feature-length documentary Jordan River Anderson, The Messenger by Alanis Obomsawin will be among the new free offerings on NFB.ca in August.
In her latest film, celebrated Abenaki director Obomsawin tells the story of Jordan River Anderson and how, as a result of his short life, legislation exists to ensure thousands of First Nations and Inuit children receive the same standard of social, health and education services as the rest of the Canadian population.
This film will be available starting Aug. 31 and in perpetuity.
Available Aug. 24 will be the official launch of The Curve, in which 40 Canadian creators give voice to those touched by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Curve will explore and share the everyday ups and downs of ordinary Canadians navigating the COVID-19 era, expressed in animation, documentary and digital storytelling formats.
Following 60 Day Cycle and Parenthèse, which are already online, a third project created in the immediate wake of the outbreak will be made available shortly, ahead of the official launch of The Curve.
