Gleichen RCMP traffic stop on Siksika Nation yields prostitution ring

Summary

Duc Florestal (age 25) was determined to be managing sex trade workers and receiving material benefit from their enterprises.

Siksika Nation, Alberta – On June 4, 2019 at approximately 3 p.m., Gleichen RCMP assisted Wheatland County with a suspicious vehicle stop on Highway 901 on the Siksika Nation.

Preliminary investigation revealed vehicle occupants were in possession of drugs and were in transport to conduct illicit activities when they were stopped for a traffic-related offence.

Arrested for their involvement, the vehicle driver: Duc Florestal (age 25) was determined to be managing sex trade workers and receiving material benefit from their enterprises.

Florestal has been charged with the following offences:

• Offering to provide sexual services for consideration

• Receiving material benefit derived from the commission of an offence

• Transport to a bawdy house

• Proceeds of crime

• Failure to comply with Probation Order x2

Florestal from Calgary, Alta was released on his own Recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Siksika Provincial Court on July 25.
