Advice-a-Thon: Legal advice for low-income and vulnerable folks in Edmonton and Calgary

Mark your calendars for Sept. 22 because the Edmonton Community Legal Centre (ECLC) will host its Mark your calendars for Sept. 22 because the Edmonton Community Legal Centre (ECLC) will host its fourth annual legal Advice-A-thon at Edmonton City Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be 70 Edmonton lawyers giving free advice on a wide range of issues.

In addition to free drop-in legal advice, ECLC will be serving refreshments, hosted by volunteers and staff.

Volunteer lawyers – who have raised funds for ECLC’s programs and services – will also donate their time to provide legal advice to people who cannot afford to hire a lawyer.

A number of Edmonton law firms and businesses have provided corporate sponsorship for Advice-A-thon.  Gold” event sponsors are the Edmonton Bar Association and ACE/Royal Reporting.

Advice-A-thon Calgary is also happening on Sept. 22 in Calgary City Hall, organized by Calgary Legal Guidance.
