She was encouraged to enter the competition, and has been selected to continue.
Natasha Saddleback of the Samson Cree Nation, age 43, is looking to be named Ms Health and Fitness, which comes with a $20,000 prize, and she’d be featured in the magazine Muscle and Fitness Hers.
She is currently sitting at number 1 in her category, and all it takes is votes to keep her there.
“Fitness has positively influenced my life in so many ways. Whenever I encountered a difficult time in life I go to the gym; the positive endorphins would start to flow. The bad situation didn’t seem so bad anymore… I believe that it is very important to show people how a heathy lifestyle can improve your life,” she wrote on her competition bio.
Saddleback’s own fitness training website says she started weight training at the age of 19.
Voting for the top 30 contenders continues until July 3 at 11 p.m. EDT.
