Calgary supporters of the Wet’suwt’en people at the Gidimt'en Checkpoint in B.C., who were blocking access to unceded territory to workers from Coastal Gas link which is constructing an LNG pipeline to Kitimat, were met with some opposition outside the headquarters of TransCanada Pipeline, during Tuesday afternoon's "International Solidarity demonstration.
“Build that pipe. Build that pipe,” they shouted.
RCMP in B.C. removed the people at the checkpoint yesterday, arresting more than a dozen and sparking protests across Canada. But in Alberta, where there is an economic downturn in oil and gas, it brought people out support for the pipeline.
