The winners of the 2019 Indigenous Music Awards presented by Casinos of Winnipeg were presented with their awards May 17. The hand drum trophies were handed out in 21 categories in Winnipeg at the Club Regent Event Centre.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was also presented to Ernest Monias, lovingly referred to as ‘Elvis of the North.’
Manito Ahbee Festival announced that the 2020 Indigenous Music Awards will take place in Edmonton, Alberta.
