Children’s Services focuses on early intervention, child development and delivering supports and services to children, youth and families. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy, Indigenous Partnerships and Strategic Services, the Executive Director, Indigenous and Community Connections (ICC) will provide strategic leadership, support and guidance to ensure ongoing collaboration and relationship building takes place with partners. Engaging with other ministries and key stakeholders, the Executive Director will ensure ongoing collaboration and relationship building with Indigenous and other communities and organizations as well as represent the ministry on committees, working groups and cross ministry teams. The Executive Director is responsible for the ministry’s Stakeholder Engagement. The Executive Director also leads the promotion, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of Indigenous training throughout the Ministry.  


Your background includes significant related senior management experience with strengths in building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, strategic leadership and program management. You have a strong understanding of and background in working with Indigenous people, communities and organizations.  You have exceptional strengths in building partnerships, leading projects and working collaboratively. Advanced communication, excellent project management and organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of Indigenous communities, governance structures and history of indigenous people in Alberta are required. Knowledge of and/or ability to speak an Indigenous language would be an asset.  A related degree is preferred.  


$4,801.47 - $6,310.03 Bi-weekly.  ($125,318 - $164,691 / year)
