Metrolinx is seeking a Chief Communications Officer responsible for: advising on the strategic vision and direction required to build and protect Metrolinx's corporate reputation. Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Communications Officer will design and implement a multi-channel communications and public affairs strategy to advance the organization's strategic objectives and enhance the Metrolinx brand. The Chief Communications Office is accountable for developing strategies to manage relationships effectively, engage with Metrolinx’s many internal and external communities and obtain input from stakeholders, including elected and senior officials from all three levels of government, partner organizations, the media, and the public.
The ideal candidate is a senior communications professional able to speak dynamically, authentically and plainly with more than 15 years of experience leading diverse communications functions. They have developed and implemented multi-stakeholder corporate strategies, ideally with commercial or agency experience, and have a track record of innovation and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills. Candidates must be well versed in strategic communications, including public engagement, issues management, brand enhancement, and digital and social media. Skilled in advising executives on high-profile communications, candidates should bring high energy to managing multiple projects simultaneously and relationship skills to ensure successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
