A Canadian-based company that acquires, develops, builds, owns and operates wind, hydro and solar facilities across North America, is reaching out to the Indigenous community to offer scholarships in three categories.

BluEarth Renewables, currently in partnership with First Nations on nine facilities in Canada, is seeking applications for the following:

  • Indigenous Peoples Scholarship: Awarded to Indigenous students to help develop their skills and knowledge in the renewable energy sector.
  • Community Leaders Scholarship: Awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to giving back to their community and making the world a better place for their generation and generations to come.
  • Renewable Energy Trades Scholarship: Awarded to students enrolled in a renewable energy trades program.

Additional information and application form can be found online at: https://bluearthrenewables.com/our-responsibility/scholarships/

The application deadline is Sept. 15.

Successful candidates will be provided with financial support of up to $3,000 for the academic year, as well as the opportunity to be matched with a BluEarth mentor and learning partner for two-way communication to inspire, challenge and motivate.

Applications are reviewed by a selection committee based on the case for financial support, academic merit, community involvement, pursuit of studies that could be transferable to the renewable energy sector and/or environmental stewardship, and proximity to the locations where we live, work and operate.
