Summary

The contest runs from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30 and is open to both professional and amateur photographers of all ages.

The Athabasca Watershed Council is inviting photographers to submit their best photos of the Athabasca Watershed for their 2020 print calendar.

We are looking for seasonal shots (spring, summer, autumn, winter) that relate to the Water for Life strategy: safe secure drinking water, healthy aquatic ecosystems; reliable quality and quantity of water for a sustainable economy.

The photos should be creative, attractive, high-quality, landscape-oriented shots of various subjects. They need to have been taken within the Athabasca Watershed and by the contest participant.

“The Athabasca Watershed is such a diverse and beautiful area of the world,” said Janet Pomeroy, AWC executive director. “We want to showcase that through the eyes of one of our most important stakeholder groups: the people who live, work and recreate here. The calendar will be a great gift to welcome new members and a tool to promote the watershed wherever we present.”

The contest runs from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30 and is open to both professional and amateur photographers of all ages.

Photos must be submitted on our website and all entries will be posted on our Instagram account (@awc_wpac) with the hashtag #AWC2020Photos.

The 24 photos with the most “likes” will be selected for judging. 14 photos selected by the judges will be the contest winners.

Each winning photo will receive a spot in the calendar, a $25 gift card and recognition on our website and social media.

“This is a great opportunity for your work to be seen throughout the watershed and beyond,” said Lisa Allan, AWC communications specialist.
