Bodies found: Search for BC suspects over, say Manitoba RCMP

The search is over.

As of 10 a.m. this morning, Manitoba RCMP officers located the bodies of two males believed to be the BC suspects Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod, wanted in the murder of three people.

RCMP searched the river near Gillam over the weekend after a damaged aluminum boat was discovered there Friday. A dive team conducted an underwater search and then located items on the shoreline of the Nelson River approximatedly 8 km from the burned vehicle which alerted RCMP to conduct a search in the Gillam area.

Officers discovered the two male bodies in the dense bush within 1 km of where items linked to the suspects were found.
